Clinton is located in Clinton, Illinois approximately 23 miles south-southeast of Bloomington, Illinois.  The General Electric BWR is operated by Exelon Generating Company LLC, and is owned by Exelon Corp.  The plant is licensed to operate until September 29, 2026.  Exelon has not announced its intentions regarding an ISFSI, however, it is anticipated that one will be needed in 2014.  As of the end of 2010, there was 8,440 metric tons of SNF stored at the 7 nuclear power plant sites located in the State of Illinois — Braidwood, Byron, Clinton, Dresden, La Salle, Quad Cities and ZIon.
