Cooper Nuclear Station is located in Brownville, Nebraska approximately 23 miles south of Nebraska City, Nebraska. The General Electric BWR is operated by Entergy Nuclear Nebraska and owned by Nebraska Public Power District. The plant is licensed to operate until January 18, 2034. The ISFSI for Cooper began accepting SNF in 2011. As of the end of 2010, there was 840 metric tons of SNF stored at the two nuclear power plants sites located in the State of Nebraska — Cooper and Ft. Calhoun.
