Diablo Canyon Units 1 and 2 are located in Avila Beach, California approximately 12 miles west-southwest of San Luis Obispo, California.  The Westinghouse PWRs are operated by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and owned by PG&E Corp.  Unit 1 is licensed to operate until November 2, 2024.  Unit 2 is licensed to operate until August 26, 2025.

There is no ISFSI at Diablo Canyon; however, PG&E is currently pursuing a general license ISFSI that will be needed for both units in 2012.  As of the end of 2010, there was 2,850 metric tons of SNF stored at 2 nuclear power plant sites located in the State of California — Diablo Canyon and San Onofre.
