R.E.Ginna Nuclear Power Plant is located in Ontario, New York approximately 20 miles northeast of Rochester, New York. The Westinghouse PWR is operated and owned by Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, LLC, which is owned (50.01%) by Constellation Energy Group and owned (49.99%) by Electricite de France. The plant is licensed to operate until September 18, 2029.
The ISFSI at Ginna began accepting SNF in 2010 pursuant to a general license. The ISFSI is located north-northwest of the plant. As of the end of 2011, there were 224 fuel assemblies stored in 7 dry casks. The casks are manufactured by Transnuclear — the NUHOMS cask system and the 32PT canister type.
