Kewaunee

Kewaunee Power Station is located in Kewaunee, Wisconsin approximately 27 miles east southeast of Green Bay, Wisconsin.  The Westinghouse PWR is operated by and owned by Dominion Generation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion Resources, Inc.  The unit is licensed to operate until December 21, 2033.

The ISFSI for Kewaunee began accepting SNF in August 2009 pursuant to a general license.  The ISFSI consists of two concrete pads, although only one is currently built.  As of the end of August 2011, there were 256 SNF assemblies stored in 8 dry casks.  The casks are manufactured by Transnuclear — the NUHOMS cask system and the 32PT canister type.  As of the end of 2008, there was 1,310 metric tons of SNF stored at the two nuclear power plant sites located in the State of Wisconsin — Kewaunee and Point Beach.
