La Salle County Station Units 1 and 2 are located in Marseilles, Illinois approximately 11 miles southeast of Ottawa, Illinois.  The General Electric BWRs are operated by Exelon Generation Co., LLC and owned by Exelon Corp.  Unit 1 is licensed to operate until April 17, 2022.  Unit 2 is licensed to operate until December 16, 2023.

The ISFSI for La Salle began accepting SNF in November 2010 pursuant to a general license.  The ISFSI consists of a single concrete pad (although 2 more pads could be accommodated) that is 90 feet wide by 246 feet long.  As of the end of July 2011, there were 408 SNF assemblies stored in 6 dry casks.  The casks are manufactured by Holtec — the Hi-Storm cask system and the MPC-68 canister type.  As of the end of 2010, there was 8,440 metric tons of SNF in storage at the 7 nuclear power plant sites located in the State of Illinois — Braidwood, Bryon, Clinton, Dresden, La Salle, Quad Cities and Zion.
