The Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station is located in Plymouth, Massachusetts approximately 38 miles southeast of Boston, Massachusetts. The General Electric BWR is operated by Entergy Nuclear Northeast and owned by Entergy Nuclear Generation, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Entergy Corp. The unit is licensed to operate until June 8, 2012; however, a license renewal application is currently pending before the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that would extend operation until June 8, 2032. There is no ISFSI at Pilgrim, although Entergy plans to build one and begin accepting SNF in 2014-2015. As of the end of 2010, there were 640 metric tons of SNF stored at Pilgrim.
